On October 20, Hackney Diamonds—which has 12 songs and is preceded by the lead single Angry—will be released. At a gathering in Hackney on Wednesday, Sir Mick Jagger, Ronnie Wood, and Keith Richards made the album announcement.
In the event, Richards said,
“Ever since Charlie’s gone, it’s been different, he’s number four,”
He is obviously missed. However, he said, Watts’ replacement on the new record will be Steve Jordan, a drummer Richards claimed the group knew from “way back” and who filled Watts’ position on the tour this summer.
Richards said that Watts himself said before his death that if he was ever gone then the band should replace him for the betterment of the band. Richard also said,
“It would have been a lot harder without Charlie’s blessing,”.
Titled is the new lead single that precedes the album and the premiere will be at the same event in Hackney.
